DeRose Method Maia
A lived project... DeRose Method
The space designed for the DeRose Method Maia school is the result of various experiences, both internal and external, which culminate in the conception of a space where functionality and aesthetics appear as one.
From the inside to the outside, each matter communicates a void. Matter and light define space.
As this is one of the main principles of architecture, we put special emphasis on emptiness. To this end, we have defined privacy indices almost as if it were a choreography. Each space has an introduction, a development and a conclusion.
The dynamics and transitions are subtle and spontaneous. The path, almost as if intuited, remains a discovery, constantly changing. The vertical, rectilinear lath that greets us at the entrance, a born representative of man's artifice throughout the ages, provides an intimate and dynamic atmosphere in which light takes center stage. The light defines the shadow, a scene that changes over time. It is the ambassador of the embrace, enveloping those who enter. It is also primarily responsible for the introduction to the practice room.
The project consists of 3 distinct areas. Social area, reception and practice room. The space is based on the concept of organic growth, since it is constantly being built by the students who inhabit it. Each book, each mark and each smell will populate the space with life, resulting in a lived construction that is constantly being renewed.
The exterior is established as a reflection of an interior reality. The invitation is given in an intimate way to all passers-by who identify with it or are curious to get to know it. A school open to the city that seeks to be a positive influence on its surroundings, from the inside out.
Each project is properly monitored and processed before the licensing authorities.
